The Learning Process for Duolingo and A little bit of my review of them

Hello folks, welcome back to another one of my blog, if you're new here my name is Fachry putranto sukarmin. Now let me tell you my experience studying english using the website or app duolingo.

I picked the option to find my own difficulty, I did three units and I will tell you the method each of the unit used to present a fun leaning experience.

Unit 1

For Unit 1, they used the topic of travelling alone (solo). The question types they used consist of six kinds.

First, there’s the usual fill-in-the-blank type, where Duolingo presents us with situations we might encounter when travelling alone for example, asking for directions, recounting experiences, dealing with problems while travelling, and many more.

Another type is listening to a question and choosing the correct answer from four options. There’s also one where a sentence is presented, and we need to find the definition of the underlined word.

The next one is following a story. In this type, there will be a narrator and two speakers (Speaker 1 and Speaker 2). The narrator introduces what kind of conversation the two speakers are about to have. After that, we have to pick the most appropriate responses during the dialogue.

Then, there’s a type where we listen to a sentence and retype it in the box provided. And finally, the last type of question requires us to read a question and answer it using a microphone.

In the first unit, I learned how to ask politely while travelling and what kind of  documents that is necessary for a trip. I didn’t really find any new words that made me look them up on Google, and most of the questions and answers used words that were quite basic, though a bit tricky for beginners.

Alright time to move on to unit 2, which uses the topic of ordering food using delivery app, and it also still use the same type of six questions.

In this unit just like the previous unit doesn't have materials or words that need me to search the definition of it online, which I guess is also the one weakness of studying english using duolingo, most of the answers and question for me at least are a bit to repetitive, unless it's the exam form where they actually test your english skill. A vastly different difficulty between the daily task and exam which will shock beginner learner.

Now for the final unit that is unit 3 which uses the topic describing a day in college.

I have the same thoughts on what to write and have learnt in unit 3, not much different from unit 2 so I'll just write it short and ended it here.

So that is all from me, apologize for my usage of wording that may be inappropriate, and thank you for reading this blog.
